It was developed by Luc(as) de Groot for use in conjunction with Microsoft’s ClearType font rendering technology. Consolas has been a part of Microsoft’s ClearType Font Collection since Windows Vista, Microsoft Office 2007, and Visual Studio 2010; users can download it from Microsoft. In addition, Consolas is one of the four Vista-only fonts that has a zero in the form of a slash placed between each number.
The following OpenType layout features are supported in Consolas: stylistic alternatives, locale variants, uppercase-sensitive forms, old-style figures, and other older-style characters, lines, random fractions, superscript, and subscript.
It is for personal use only.
