Craftico Font

Craftico is a fine, light serif from TypeFactory. The hairlines are very thin, the serifs are small and pointed, and a few letters bend in unusual ways: the f leans forward, the g has a looping tail, and the Q drops a long, curving stroke. The specimens set it over woodworking and batik photos, which suits the name.

The free version includes uppercase, lowercase and numbers in a single OTF file. It is a display face, best at heading sizes where its thin strokes stay visible. The “Learn Making Batik” card with a ceramic vase shows how calm it looks on muted, natural colours.

Best uses for Craftico

  • Branding for craft studios and workshops
  • Ceramics and home goods labels
  • Wedding invitations
  • Course and workshop flyers
  • Gallery and exhibition posters

Font pairings

Craftico is light, so pair it with a slightly sturdier face. Jost works for small details, close to the spaced caps in the specimen. Lato is readable for longer text. For a matching serif in paragraphs, try EB Garamond.

Cormorant Garamond in Light and Bodoni Moda are open-licence serifs with fine hairlines and strong contrast.

Is Craftico good for small text?

Not really. Its hairlines are very thin, so keep it for headings, logos and short lines, and use a sturdier font below about 18px.
