Tangier is a crisp, high contrast serif with tall capitals and fine hairlines. The italic, called Roman Calligraphic Italic on the cover, has more movement and a slightly brushy feel.
A Los Angeles California travel layout sets the city in upright capitals and the state in italic over a photo of rocks and surf, which is how the two styles are meant to work together. Viswell Studio added ligatures such as ct, st and fft and alternate capitals for A, V and W in both styles.
