Pardell plays with extreme contrast. Metafontsy drew it with heavy vertical stems and hairlines so thin they almost disappear, and there are very few serifs to speak of. The result looks like a cross between a fashion masthead and a stencil. The P and the d in “Pardell” show how far the contrast goes.
The “Mystic Moon” sample, set in terracotta on beige, shows it in mixed sizes. The free version includes upper and lowercase plus a set of accented alternates. It works best at large sizes; the hairlines need space to be seen.

Font pairings
Pardell needs a quiet partner. Raleway in Light, spaced out, echoes the “Introducing” line in the specimen. Lato handles body text. For a serif with more weight, try Libre Caslon Text.
