Evgen, from Peanut Butter Type, is a 2025 display serif with heavy stems and short, wedge shaped serifs. Some letters look almost carved, like the angled cross stroke on the e and the pointed tail on the g. It feels a little medieval and a little 1970s fantasy paperback at the same time.
The character set in the specimen is generous, with upper and lowercase, numbers, a full run of currency signs and plenty of punctuation. It is a single Regular style. Colour helps it: the mustard on charcoal in the preview shows how well the solid shapes hold up.
